Spot clean first
For a small mark, use a clean damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent. Blot rather than scrub so the stitching is not pulled or distorted.
Turn the cover inside out
Before washing, close the zipper and turn the cover inside out. This reduces direct abrasion on the embroidered surface.
Choose a gentle wash
Hand washing is preferred. When the care label permits machine washing, use cold water, a gentle cycle, mild detergent, and a protective laundry bag.
Avoid bleach and high heat
Bleach, harsh stain removers, high-temperature water, and aggressive drying can affect thread color, fabric feel, and shape.
Air-dry and reshape
Lay the cover flat or hang it away from strong direct sunlight. Smooth the edges and reshape the corners while the fabric is still slightly damp.
Store without crushing the embroidery
Fold covers loosely or store them flat. Avoid placing heavy objects directly on raised threadwork for long periods.
